Operation Types

Manual Option: Removeable Crank Rod

  • Gear ratios: 2 : 1, 3 : 1, 4 : 1 or heavy-duty 11 : 1 let you balance speed vs. effort.

  • Handle options: Fixed rod (garage-door style) or removable crank that parks on a wall hook.

  • Typical capacity: Up to 10 m² (108 ft²) with a 4 : 1 gear; the 11 : 1 kit handles the full 13 m² max of an HQ Macro curtain.

  • Where it shines: Bedrooms (quiet), clinics (no exposed strap), light-commercial doors where a motor isn’t justified.

  • Install note: Gearbox mounts inside the panel box; a 16 mm square steel shaft runs through the wall to the interior crank escutcheon.

Manual Option: Torsion-Spring

  • Application: Small concession or pass-through shutters ≤ 1.2 m high.

  • Mechanism: An internal spring shaft offsets the slat weight, so staff can raise or lower the curtain with two fingers—no cords, no gearbox.

  • Perks: 100 % manual redundancy (no power, no strap to tangle), ultra-clean façade, zero projection into the room.

  • Limits: Not recommended for exterior windows or openings that face high winds.

Somfy® RTS Radio Tubular Motor

  • 110 v/60 Hz
  • Built-in 433 MHz receiver—no external control box.

  • Pair with: single-, 5- or 16-channel Situo handsets, Smoove wall keypads, Chronis timer, or MyLink/Tahoma app for Alexa / Google / IFTTT voice control.

  • “my” favourite stop records a partially closed privacy position.

  • Manual-override model: Minimum overall width ≥ 860 mm (34″).

  • Smart add-ons: Sun-sensor auto-close in midday heat, wind sensor auto-open in high gusts.

Build ups & Locks

Sill: L-Shaped Sill

Typical use-case

  • A simple angled threshold when there’s no structural sill (e.g., ground-level doors, rough slab, shop counters).

Key installation notes

  • Sits directly under the rails; no down-set.

Sill: U-Shaped Sill

Typical use-case

  • Creates a clean “U” receiver when you need the curtain to seat on something other than the finished floor or window stool. Often paired with SAFE/SAFE-40 rails for extra weather-proofing.

Key installation notes

  • something other than the finished floor or window stool. Often paired with SAFE/SAFE-40 rails for extra weather-proofing.• Drops 1 ⅞ ” (48 mm) below the guide-rail line, so add that to the B-dimension (“height”) on your spec sheet.
    • Accepts the same slide-on build-up pieces that SAFE rails use, making it easy to stack everything flush.
    • Can be factory-pre-drilled for mounting holes and/or weep-holes.

Slide-on “stackers” – 3 ⁄ 8 " & 7 ⁄ 8 " strips

Snap into the back of a PRO, SAFE, GR-75 or GRM-66 rail (or the SAFE U-sill). Mix-and-match to fine-tune depth.

Anti Graffiti

Clear, non-sacrificial polyurethane topcoat that lets paint wipe off fast without harming the shutter finish. Applied at 1–2 mils, it delivers 2H hardness, 100 MEK solvent resistance, 1,000-cycle abrasion protection, and 40 in-lb impact resistance while locking in a glossy, long-lasting colour.

Logo Printing

Showcase your brand even when the shutters are down. We can print high-resolution logos, ads, or full-colour images directly on the curtain, turning closed hours into prime marketing time—without compromising security. Contact us for pricing, file specs, and size limits.

Additional Benefits of Installing Roll-Up Shutters

Roll-up shutters are a practical, high-impact upgrade for both homes and businesses. In addition to security, they offer year-round protection, comfort, and efficiency—making them a valuable investment beyond their primary purpose.

Weather Protection

Shutters provide sunlight management and help you stay cool during the summer. And during the winter, they offer more insulation and prevent leaks.

Theft Protection

For commercial property, this is an essential benefit to consider. But for homeowners with patios, garages, and pool houses too.

Cost-Efficient Solution

Replacing your windows and doors with energy-efficient glass can be costly and might take a while before you see any ROI. Instead of cracking up the AC, consider roll up shutters as a cost-effective and environmentally conscious alternative.

Custom Made to Fit

Roll up shutters can complement the aesthetics of your home. It's easy to customize them and paint them in any colour you choose. Whether you need to cover the windows or change the garage door, outfitting your home or commercial space with roll up shutters is our job here at Canada Shutter Pros.

Weather Protection

Engineered with tight-sealing side guides and a durable resin-coated aluminum finish, our roll-up doors are built to withstand heavy rain, snow, wind, and temperature swings—keeping your garage dry, secure, and protected year-round.

Noise Reduction

Designed with precision-fit tracks and optional insulated slats, our roll-up doors operate quietly and help dampen outside noise—perfect for laneway garages near busy streets or shared residential spaces.
