Why the pharmacy wanted an interior shutter
The pharmacy serves customers through a sliding glass window onto a shared corridor, with the counter and the dispensing area behind it. Outside opening hours that window was the one gap in an otherwise closed room, and the pharmacy wanted it covered by something more solid than glass and a latch.
Because the window faces a corridor in a shared building, the shutter had to go on the inside. Nothing could be fixed to the corridor wall, and the pharmacy did not want a box or guides showing to the public side. An interior roll-up shutter solved both: it mounts to the pharmacy's own wall and, closed, it simply fills the window behind the glass.

How we fitted it above the counter
The box sits on the wall directly above the window opening, under the ceiling grid, and the guide rails run down each side of the opening to the counter top. The curtain closes onto the counter, so the counter stays clear and usable when the shutter is up.
Everything is white to match the room: the box, the guides and the slats. The shutter was built to the opening, and we measured after the counter and the glass window were in place so the curtain lands cleanly on the counter surface.
Manual operation and locks
The shutter is manual. A crank rod hangs on the right-hand guide and winds the curtain up and down; there is no motor and no wiring, which suited a counter that is opened and closed once a day.
Two sliding locks on the bottom slat secure the curtain when it is down. From inside the pharmacy they slide across by hand; from the corridor side there is nothing to reach, since the shutter sits behind the glass.
